Are you a First Time Offender seeking an Interlock License?
There are a lot of questions about the new Ignition Interlock Limited License available to some First time Offenders. We have consulted with the PA DUI Association and PennDOT to make sure you get all the answers you need. Interlock Vendors come and go in Pennsylvania, but we have worked closely with PennDOT since the first Ignition Interlock Device was installed.
Now that you have your restoration requirements letter; the first step is to get us a copy of it. Whether you have a car or not, we will need a copy of it to help you get your interlock license. The easiest way to get it to us is take a picture of the first page. Make sure we can read the name and address. And that we can read the Date of Birth, Driver Number, and Eligibility Date. Then Email it over to us. We will review it and respond right away with the next step.
Even if you do not have a car, you still should apply for your Interlock License. PennDOT will give you the License and once it has been issued; you can usually apply for your regular License to come back 12 months after your Interlock License has been issued. PennDOT will require you to fill in some forms and send your application along with any fees that are specified on the Restoration Requirements Letter.
There are times when it is recommended to install an Ignition Interlock Device voluntarily. Maybe you have company vehicles that you want to protect and lower your liability for. Maybe you have a teenager or other family member that you want to protect. Maybe you have been arrested for DUI or OVI and want to show the judge that you accept responsiblity for what you have done wrong and are working to make sure it never happens again.
Do You Want to Install and Service Interlock Devices?
That is a great idea. If you have experience with Automotive Electronics and 12 Volt Systems; this can be a great way to supplement your income. Most installations are easy to complete. And you will be paid for servicing the devices in regular intervals and for removing them too

We will review it and respond right away with the next step. We do need to review the entire letter to make an appropriate response, so please send a pic of all the pages. If you do have a car you want to install the interlock in; take a picture of the owner's card and send it with your letter. Include the Odometer reading. We will find the nearest service center to your location and email you back the location.
You will want to look on the back page of the restoration letter for an application that you need to sign and send back to PennDOT. Many times, there is an application fee, a restoration fee and sometimes a renewal fee. Make sure that you read through the entire letter so you can find out exactly how much you need to send with your application.
It is also a good idea to make copies of everything that you send to PennDOT and put them in a file in case you need to refer back to them for some reason.
We recommend that your interlock device be installed about 1-2 weeks before your eligibility date to allow time for PennDOT to process your paperwork and fees. This will also increase the likelihood that you will have your interlock license on or near your eligibility date.
Remember, you are not legally able to operate your vehicle until PennDOT sends your Interlock License back to you. So many people plan to have a friend or relative drive them to the Service Center to have the device installed.
We want to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions, you can always call us at 1-866-718-8606 or use the contact form to reach out with questions.
